Skytree invites JINC to experience life at a start-up
Recently we were fortunate enough to collaborate with JINC, a non-profit organization based in the Netherlands, whose core mission is to support disadvantaged children with finding employment they may not otherwise have been able to access.
We welcomed 10 young adults supported by JINC into our Skytree offices to show them our technology, meet some of our team, and offer advice on finding opportunities in the technology sector. As part of their day, we set up several activities in our research and development and engineering labs to allow them to be hands-on with our product and technology.
After a tour of our offices, we showed them our labs and an activity based around our sorbent technology. Throughout the activity, they were guided through the functionality of the sorbent and its crucial role within the filtration system. They were then shown how a cartridge is assembled and how the sorbent is heated using a controller.
In addition to the technical aspects, the participants were given insight into the safety measures incorporated into Skytree's technology. The introduction of a thermal fuse served as a practical demonstration, showcasing how the circuit automatically shuts off in response to high temperatures.
They had a lot of enthusiasm for the activity and for life at Skytree, often surprised that such an enjoyable activity could be part of a job. They also asked lots of questions, particularly about how old they would have to be to work here, talking about the grades they achieved at school to prove their worth!
Skytree is proud to collaborate with JINC exemplifying the power of inclusiveness and providing meaningful opportunities to people of all backgrounds. By opening doors to the world of technology and innovation, initiatives like these pave the way for a brighter future.
